Old El Paso - Tacoboy

 Old El Paso - Tacoboy

It’s football season. Odds are, you’re eating a hotdog. But the odds didn’t matter to Old El Paso. They wanted to become the number one game day food over hotdogs. So, we re-imagined a true underdog story, The Waterboy, alongside the movie’s actual director, Frank Coraci. Starring the NFL’s biggest trio, the Watt brothers, The Tacoboy tackled hot dogs, literally, in favor of Old El Paso. The spot, along with digital and social content, launched on Amazon Prime and ESPN.

Working with the director of The Waterboy, we recreated multiple elements from the movie including Tacoboy’s vest and the infamous tackle scene from the movie.

Each Watt brother had an idea for their perfect taco, so we created limited edition boxes featuring JJ, TJ, and Dereck. Product launched with a social post, followed by an unboxing video from each of the brothers. Finally, to kick off football season, we served up the brother’s tacos before TJ’s first game for the Pittsburg Steelers.
